Analysis of Adult Educators’ work considering the political dimension at EU and national level

 

In Work Package 2 (WP2) of our project, we aim to delve into the Political Dimension of Adult Education, focusing on integrating this dimension into the work of adult and community educators. Through comprehensive research and targeted activities, WP2 will contribute significantly to the achievement of our project’s overarching objectives.

 

Specific Objectives of WP2: Customization of Intellectual Outputs: To customize the other three intellectual outputs of the project based on the results of the research conducted within WP2. Quality Development of Adult Education: To contribute to the quality development of adult education by exploring and integrating the political dimension into educational practices. Feasibility Testing of European Training Strategy Competence Model: To test the feasibility of the European Training Strategy (ETS) Competence Model in adult education, assessing its applicability and effectiveness in enhancing educator competences. Support for Competence Development: To support organizations and networks in working with educators on the competence development of adult and senior learners, fostering a culture of lifelong learning and professional growth. Professional Development of Educators: To contribute to the professional development of adult and community educators by enabling them to incorporate the political dimension into their work, thereby enhancing the quality of training provided to learners.

 

Main Results of WP2: Research Insights: Investigation of the Political Dimension of Adult Education through a comprehensive research study, providing insights into factors influencing educators’ roles, ethics, and attitudes towards political engagement. Guide of Good Practices and Tools: Development of a handbook focusing on Human Resource Management of Adult and Senior Coordinators and Volunteers in implementing European Citizens’ Initiatives. This guide will include case studies, assessment tools, and practical strategies for effective implementation. Measurement Indicators: To assess the level of achievement of WP2 objectives and the quality of results, the following indicators will be used: Context Indicators: Provide information on contextual factors affecting learning, such as socio-economic conditions and community issues. Input Indicators: Measure the deployment and use of resources to facilitate learning, including data on resource allocation and utilization. Process Indicators: Assess the quality of learning activities conducted, including teaching standards, time on task, and educational leadership. Output Indicators: Measure the effects of program activities on learning outcomes, including competencies gained and learner satisfaction.

 

Tasks and Responsibilities of Partner Organizations: Each partner organization will be responsible for conducting country-specific research, drafting country reports, and participating in collaborative activities. ARISTA DEKA will lead the research efforts, coordinate partner activities, and ensure the production of high-quality outputs. Cost-effectiveness of the Work Package: The grant amount allocated to WP2 will be utilized efficiently, with a focus on minimizing communication costs, optimizing travel expenses, and ensuring transparent financial management. By centralizing budget management and adhering to agreed-upon principles, we will maximize the impact of our project activities while maintaining fiscal responsibility.

2nd Core Work Package

Educational tools strengthening civic engagement potential of Adult & Community Educators

 

Work Package 3 (WP3) is dedicated to the development of a comprehensive Training Toolkit aimed at enhancing citizenship among adult and senior learners through innovative educational methods. By leveraging creative approaches beyond traditional teaching practices, WP3 seeks to empower learners and foster meaningful civic engagement.

Specific Objectives of WP3: Customization of Tools Based on Research Results: To customize the Training Toolkit based on the findings of the Research Study conducted in WP2, ensuring relevance and effectiveness in addressing learners’ needs. Quality Improvement in Adult Education: To contribute to the enhancement of quality in adult education by introducing innovative methods that facilitate understanding and retention of material. Feasibility Testing of Creative Methods: To test the feasibility and efficacy of innovative educational methods, including Photovoice, Educational Animation (Video), Storytelling, and Kahoot! Quizzes, in stimulating civic engagement among adult and senior learners.

Empowerment of Learners: To empower learners, particularly those with fewer opportunities, by providing them with flexible tools that inspire conversation, visualization of concepts, and grassroots social action.

Main Results of WP3: The primary output of WP3 is the “Training toolkit to enhance citizenship of adult and senior learners,” which will incorporate a variety of creative methods to engage learners. The toolkit will address contemporary issues of interest to the target group, including Human Rights and Climate Change, Data Protection, Immigration, and Euroscepticism. By enriching educational practices with innovative tools, WP3 aims to bridge the gap between traditional methods and the diverse learning needs of adult and senior learners.

Measurement Indicators: To assess the achievement of WP3 objectives and the quality of results, a combination of context, input, process, and output indicators will be utilized. These indicators will provide insights into the effectiveness of the training tools in facilitating learning outcomes and promoting civic engagement among learners.

Adult learners leveraging Social Networks and Social Media for the promotion of social change

 

Work Package 4 (WP4) aims to equip adult educators and learners with the necessary skills and tools to effectively utilize social media for running successful online campaigns on issues relevant to adult learners and their communities. By addressing the gap in understanding and utilization of social media platforms, WP4 contributes to the broader objectives of the project related to enhancing civic engagement and promoting social change.

 

Specific Objectives of WP4: Enhancing Social Media Literacy: To enable adult educators to understand the dynamics of social media platforms and provide them with the expertise to guide adult learners in running successful online campaigns. Addressing Dissemination Challenges: To overcome the difficulties adult and senior learners face in comprehending the concept and importance of disseminating project outcomes, particularly in projects like Erasmus+. Expanding Project Impact: To expand the impact of projects by training educators and learners on effectively utilizing social media platforms for dissemination and promotion of project results, thereby reaching a wider audience and promoting social messages. Mobilizing Learners for Social Change: To provide tools and strategies to mobilize adult and senior learners to actively participate in social change initiatives through online campaigns and petitions. Promoting Social Media for Social Change: To advocate for the use of social media as a catalyst for social change and civic engagement among citizens and NGOs. Facilitating Innovative Use of Social Media: To present innovative methods for citizens and NGOs to leverage social media platforms effectively for promoting social causes and achieving objectives. Showcasing Benefits of Social Media Engagement: To highlight the benefits and achievements of citizens and NGOs utilizing social media for disseminating information, promoting causes, and driving social change. Main Results of WP4: The primary outcome of WP4 will be the development of a “Toolkit for Successful Online Campaigns and Petitions.” This toolkit will encompass various areas, including strategies for leveraging social media for social change, practical steps for online campaigns, digital storytelling techniques, and methods for measuring campaign impact. By empowering adult educators and learners with these tools, WP4 aims to bridge the gap in social media literacy and facilitate effective online engagement for social change. Measurement Indicators: The achievement of WP4 objectives and the quality of results will be assessed through a combination of context, input, process, and output indicators. These indicators will provide insights into the effectiveness of the toolkit in enhancing social media literacy, facilitating online campaigns, and promoting social change among adult learners and educators.
